7-31-23   THOUGHTS

We must visit the 119th Psalm frequently.  The heart of a man searching diligently for God is pictured there as well as in any place in the Bible.   It is a pure, keen desire to know and follow. It is a recognition of the source of life and blessings!  It is JOY IN THE PROCESS KNOWING THE BLESSINGS THAT COME FROM IT!  There is no wavering here!   What I read below, I want for myself!  It is a heart longing for ALL of his Creator.  David knows where to find God!  In His testimonies, in His word.  He calls it the Law of God’s mouth!  In verse 59, David’s words “I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.”, imply God’s right to authority over our lives through “The law of His mouth.”  David does not seem to reserve PLACE FOR HIMSELF!  Life is about God, not him!  I want to learn this in the most powerful, and complete way.   Would you pray for me in this way?  Could we pray for each other?

Ps 119:57-72   The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.

58   I sought Your favor with all my heart; Be gracious to me according to Your word.
59   I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60  I hastened and did not delay To keep Your commandments.

61   The cords of the wicked have encircled me, But I have not forgotten Your law.
62   At midnight I shall rise to give thanks to You Because of Your righteous ordinances.
63   I am a companion of all those who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.
64   The earth is full of Your lovingkindness, O LORD; Teach me Your statutes.
65   You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.
66  Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments.
67   Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word.
68   You are good and do good; Teach me Your statutes.

69   The arrogant have forged a lie against me; With all my heart I will observe Your precepts.
70  Their heart is covered with fat, But I delight in Your law.
71   It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.
72   The law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Eph 1:18    [I pray that] the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

My Prayer:
Enlighten our hearts to the law of Your mouth, O God.  Place in each heart a powerful desire to know You fully and maturely.  Wrap that desire in love and joy, O Father.  We desire the abundant life Jesus promised.  Awaken us to a greater life immersed in You.  Help to consider our ways.  May we let You bless us.  May we hasten and not delay to embrace every part of Your Awesome Being.  We long for eternity with You.   In the name of the One who saves us,     Amen.
